Pirates of the Carribean

So last night Jay and I went to see the new movie Pirates of the Carribean. I was very excited to see this movie since I had seen the first trailer for it. I really like Johnny Depp (even though I didn't like Fear and Loathing), Orlando Bloom (Legolas from Lord of the Rings), and Geoffrey Rush (for Keith...Shakespeare in Love, House on a Haunted Hill, Quills, Elizabeth, Shine...just to name a few).
I went to an 11:10pm showing of this movie, so if you know me you probably think I fell asleep...WRONG!!! Much to Jay's surprise I stayed awake and alert through the entire movie. This says a lot seeing as I have fallen asleep through many good movies such as Gangs of New York, Catch Me if You Can, Lantana (also starring Geoffrey Rush) and many many others.

Now not only did I expect to enjoy this movie purely because of the lead actors and the enticing trailor, but within the first 10 seconds of the movie I was given a great surprise. An actor that I did not expect to see was also in it, Jack Davenport. The only people that might appreciate him are those who watch the show Coupling (Steve) on BBC America. This made the movie all worth while. Even if it would have been bad, it would have been good, simply because he is just cool.

Now when he came on screen I did not recognize him right away, but as soon as words started flowing from his mouth I turned to Jay with excitement and said "That's Steve from Coupling!" This also made Jay just as excited as I (except he probably went home and masturbated over it). At some parts of the movie I would here Jay say, "What is pillow for anyway?"

So if you are having any thoughts about not seeing this movie, see it for the excellent actors, see it for Jack Davenport.
